6. Description of content: Turkey proposes to adopt the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15: Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packing Material in International Trade (ISPM 15).

- All Wood Packing material entering Turkey from all areas must be treated and certified in accordance with the standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15. In compliance with ISPM 15 Standard, wood packing material should be:

- debarked;

- subjected to fumigation by methyl bromide or heat treatment; and

- marked in compliance with ISPM 15 Standards.

This Regulation lays down the requirements for natural and legal persons engaged in production, marketing and phytosanitary treatment of wood packing material in use in international trade, who must register with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) in order to receive authorization to apply the internationally recognized mark or stamp.
